How to Use an ATM With a Credit Card

You can use your credit card at an ATM to get cash or make a deposit. To do this, you will need to find an ATM that accepts credit cards and insert your card into the machine. Once your card is inserted, you will be prompted to enter your PIN. After you have entered your PIN, you will be able to choose how much cash you would like to withdraw or how much you would like to deposit.

Find an ATM

To find an ATM, look for the Cirrus or PLUS network logos, which will be displayed on the ATM or on a sign nearby. These logos indicate that withdrawals from your credit card are accepted at that machine. If you don’t see either logo, you can still use your credit card to get cash advances at many banks and credit unions.

Insert your credit card into the ATM

Before you can use your credit card at an ATM, you’ll need to insert it into the machine. Most ATMs will have a slot specifically for credit cards, so just insert your card into that slot. If you’re having trouble finding the right slot, you can usually find instructions on the ATM’s screen or on a sign nearby. Once you insert your card, the ATM will usually ask you to select a language.

Enter your PIN

If you’re using a credit card at an ATM, you will first need to insert your card into the machine and enter your PIN. Once your PIN is entered, you will be able to select the amount of cash you would like to withdraw. After selecting the amount, you will then be prompted to take your cash and receipt. Once you have taken your cash and receipt, your transaction will be complete.

Select the Withdrawal Option

Before you can begin the withdrawal process, you must first select the “Withdrawal” option on the ATM’s main menu. Once you have done so, you will be prompted to enter the amount of money that you would like to withdraw from your account.

Enter the Amount of Money to Withdraw

Enter the amount of money that you want to withdraw from your account. You may be able to choose between withdrawing a specific dollar amount or a specific number of bills. If you are unsure how much money you need, you can always ask the ATM for a balance inquiry before you make your withdrawal.

Take Your Money and Card

Taking your money and card from the ATM is easy. Just insert your card into the machine and follow the instructions on the screen. You will be asked to enter your PIN number, and then you can choose how much money you want to withdraw. The machine will dispense the money and then return your card to you.

Close the Transaction

Be sure to take your card and receipt before you leave the machine. If you have any problems, call the number on the back of your card for assistance. It’s a good idea to have your credit card company’s phone number programmed into your cell phone in case you have any problems while you’re traveling.

Fees

You may be charged a fee for using an out-of-network ATM, even if you have a checking account with the bank that owns the ATM. The fee is typically $2.50 to $3.50, although some banks may charge more. You may also be charged a fee if you make a balance inquiry at an ATM, even if you don’t withdraw any money.

ATM Withdrawal Fees

Most banks charge a fee for using an ATM outside of their network, and that fee can range from $2 to $5. So, if you withdraw cash from an ATM that is not affiliated with your bank, you can expect to pay a fee. In addition, your bank may also charge you a foreign transaction fee for using an ATM outside of the United States. This fee is usually around 3% of the total transaction.

Credit Card Fees

ATM usage fees are the fees that you are charged for using an ATM other than your bank’s ATM. For example, if you have a Bank of America checking account and use a Chase ATM, you will be charged a fee by both Bank of America and Chase. The fee charged by your bank is typically $2.50-$5.00, while the fee charged by the ATM owner is typically $2.00-$3.00. In total, you could be looking at a fee of $4.50-$8.00 just to get access to your own money! In addition to the usage fees, you may also be charged a foreign transaction fee by your credit card issuer if you use your card to withdraw cash from an ATM outside of the United States. This fee can be as high as 3% of the transaction amount, so it’s important to factor this in when deciding whether or not to use your credit card at an ATM.
