How to Use Your Prime Day Credit
If you have Amazon Prime, you are eligible for Prime Day credit. This credit can be used on anything that is sold by Amazon, which includes Prime Day deals. Here’s how you can use your Prime Day credit.
Check your credit card statements
If you’re one of the millions of Americans who have a credit card, you may have noticed a new line item on your statement labeled “Prime Day credit.” This is a promotional credit that Amazon is offering to its Prime members to use on purchases made during Prime Day, which takes place on October 13-14 this year.
To use your Prime Day credit, simply make a purchase on Amazon.com during the event and your credit will be automatically applied to your order at checkout. There is no minimum purchase amount required to use your credit, but it can only be used on items sold by Amazon.com, not third-party sellers.
If you don’t see the Prime Day credit on your statement, don’t worry – it may take a few days for it to appear. And if you don’t see it at all, it’s possible that you didn’t meet the requirements for receiving the credit (more on that below).
So what are the requirements for getting the Prime Day credit? First, you must be an Amazon Prime member as of October 12th (the day before Prime Day begins). Second, you must have an eligible American Express card – either the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card or the American Express Membership Rewards program. If you don’t have one of these cards, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime here.
Once you’ve met these requirements, you should see the $10 Prime Day credit appear on your statement within a few days after Prime Day ends. If you don’t see it within 14 days after October 14th, please contact American Express customer service for assistance.
