How Many End Credit Scenes Are There in Sonic 2?

A look at how many end credit scenes are in Sonic 2 and what they mean for the movie’s plot.

Introduction

Sonic 2 was released in 1992 for the Sega Genesis. The game has three possible endings, each with its own end credits sequence.

The “good” ending is obtained by getting all seven Chaos Emeralds and defeating Dr. Robotnik. In this ending, Sonic and Tails are seen running on a beach as the credits roll.

The “bad” ending is obtained by defeating Dr. Robotnik without getting all seven Chaos Emeralds. In this ending, only Sonic is seen, running through a Green Hill Zone-like level as the credits roll.

The third ending is a secret ending that can be accessed by inputting a special code on the title screen. In this ending, Sonic and Tails are seen flying with their arms around each other as the credits roll.

The First End Credit Scene

The first end credit scene in Sonic 2 is after the good ending. Sonic and Tails are sitting on a bench in Green Hill Zone and Sonic says “Tails, I’m outta here!” and runs off. Tails looks sad and says “Sonic, wait!” but Sonic is already gone.

The second end credit scene is after the bad ending. Eggman is seen flying in his Egg Mobile and laughing evilly. Sonic and Tails are laying on the ground, defeated.

The Second End Credit Scene

The second end credit scene in Sonic 2 is a bit more complex. Sonic, Tails, and Eggman are all shown in their own respective areas, with Sonic and Tails running towards each other in what seems to be an endless field of grass. Eventually, they meet up and share a celebratory hug before the camera fades to black.

The Third End Credit Scene

The Third End Credit Scene is the post-credits scene for Sonic 2.

Sonic 2 has three possible endings, each with their own post-credits scene. The first ending occurs if Sonic has 50 rings or more when he reaches the end of the final Zone. In this case, Sonic will spin into a ring, which will propel him into the air and off-screen. The camera will then pan up to reveal that Sonic has landed on top of a cliff, where he proceeds to do his trademark chest pound.

The second ending occurs if Sonic has less than 50 rings when he reaches the end of the final Zone. In this case, Sonic will not be able to reach the top of the cliff, and will instead land in front of it. Tails will then fly up and land next to Sonic, and the two friends will look at each other before walking off-screen together.

The third and final ending occurs if Sonic runs out of time in the final Zone. In this case, Sonic will again not be able to reach the top of the cliff, and will instead fall off-screen. Tails will try to fly after him, but he won’t be able to catch up in time and Sonic will be lost forever. The camera will then pan up to reveal that Tails is now all alone on the cliff top.

The Fourth End Credit Scene

During the fourth end credit scene, Sonic and Tails are seen running on a beach. This is followed by a shot of them standing in front of a sunset. The final shot is of Sonic and Tails looking at the camera with a smile.

The Fifth End Credit Scene

The Fifth End Credit Scene is a post-credits scene in the 2020 live action/computer-animated heist film Sonic the Hedgehog 2. It is set during the credits of the film, after all of the other credits have finished rolling.

The scene shows Sonic (Ben Schwartz), Knuckles (Tji Houshmandzadeh) and Tails (James Marsden) sitting on a roof in Green Hills, California, watching the sunset. Sonic says that he needs to go back home, to his world. Knuckles says that he will miss him, but Sonic tells him that they will see each other again, one day. Tails says that he will stay in Green Hills and keep an eye on things. The three friends then say goodbye to each other and go their separate ways.

The Sixth End Credit Scene

This is the last of the extra scenes and it’s a doozy, showing Sonic and Tails running along on a never-ending road as Eggman’s giant airship floats by in the background (Eggman himself can be seen in a window, frantically trying to escape). Eventually, the camera zooms out to reveal that Sonic and Tails are inside a video game being played by two children in Japan.

Conclusion

In conclusion, there are a total of three end credit scenes in Sonic 2. The first is the classic “Thank you for playing!” message, followed by a montage of gameplay footage. The second is a scene where Sonic and Tails say goodbye to each other, and the third is a scene where Sonic waves goodbye to the player.
