The EIDL Loan Forgiveness program offers eligible borrowers the opportunity to have their loan partially or completely forgiven. To be eligible, borrowers must:
-Use the loan for eligible purposes
-Meet certain requirements related to their business’ size, type, and location
-meet certain payroll requirements

To apply for loan forgiveness, borrowers must submit a request to their lender. The request must include:
-Documentation indicating how the loan was used
-Documentation demonstrating that the borrower meets the eligibility requirements
-Other documentation as required by the lender

Lenders will review the borrower’s request and make a determination on whether to grant partial or full loan forgiveness.

What is EIDL Loan Forgiveness?

The EIDL Loan Forgiveness is a program offered by the Small Business Administration (SBA) that forgiven all or a portion of your EIDL loan if you use it for certain specified purposes.

To be eligible for forgiveness, you must have used your loan proceeds for one or more of the following:

-Payroll costs
-Rent or mortgage payments
-Interest on any other debt obligations that were incurred before the covered period

If you have used your loan for any other purpose, you will not be eligible for forgiveness.

How to Apply for EIDL Loan Forgiveness

Eligibility Requirements

In order to be eligible for EIDL Loan Forgiveness, your loan must have been used for approved expenses, which include:
-Payroll costs
-Rent or mortgage payments
-Utility payments
-Interest on any other debt obligations that were incurred before the covered period

To be eligible for forgiveness, you must also:
-Have a fully executed lease agreement in place by February 15, 2020
-Have experienced a revenue loss of 25% or more when comparing any quarter in 2020 to the same quarter in 2019
-Not have laid off any employees or reduced their salaries by more than 25% from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020 (excluding any positions that were vacant as of February 15, 2020)
