What is a Walmart Credit Card?
A Walmart Credit Card is a store credit card issued by Capital One and can only be used at Walmart stores, on Walmart.com, or for Walmart gas. It offers cardholders special financing options on purchases made in-store and online at Walmart, as well as access to exclusive savings and discounts. There are two main types of Walmart Credit Cards: the Walmart Mastercard and the Walmart Store Card.
Why Would You Want a Walmart Credit Card?
The Walmart Credit Card is one of the more popular retail credit cards on the market. It offers a great 0% interest introductory rate on both purchases and transfers of balance. You also get a rewards program that gives you cash back on all your purchases, both in-store and online.
Applying for a Walmart Credit Card
You can apply for a Walmart Credit Card either online or in-store. Applying online is the faster option, and you will usually get a decision within minutes. If you apply in-store, you will need to complete an application form and then wait for a decision. Either way, you will need to provide some personal and financial information.
Online Application
If you’re interested in applying for a Walmart credit card, you can do so easily online. Here’s what you’ll need to do:
1. Go to the Walmart credit card website.
2. Click on the “Apply Now” button.
3. Enter your personal information, including your name, address, and date of birth.
4. Enter your financial information, including your income and assets.
5. Review the terms and conditions of the credit card agreement.
6. Click on the “Submit” button to submit your application for review.
In-Store Application
If you would like to apply for a Walmart credit card, you can do so in-store at any Walmart location. To apply, you will need to provide some personal information, including your name, address, date of birth, and Social Security number. You will also need to provide financial information, such as your income and employment status. Once you have completed the application, a Walmart representative will review your information and make a decision on whether or not you are approved for the credit card.
Using Your Walmart Credit Card
Applying for a Walmart Credit Card is easy and can be done online, in-store, or by phone. You can get a decision in as little as 60 seconds when you apply online. If you’re approved, you can start using your card right away. When you use your card, you’ll earn points that can be redeemed for savings on future purchases.
Rewards
The Walmart Credit Card is a store card that can only be used at Walmart stores, Sam’s Club locations and on Walmart.com. It doesn’t offer much in the way of rewards, but if you frequently shop at Walmart, it may still be worth considering.
The biggest advantage of the Walmart Credit Card is its introductory offer: You’ll get 0% APR for the first 15 billing cycles on purchases and balance transfers (although balance transfer fees do apply). After that, a variable APR currently between 17.15% and 26.99% will apply.
There are no annual fees or foreign transaction fees associated with this card. You will, however, have to pay a 3% balance transfer fee (min $10) when you transfer your balance to another card during the intro period.
As far as rewards go, you’ll earn 2% back on purchases made at Walmart stores and on Walmart.com – 1% back when you redeem your rewards and an additional 1% back as you save up for your next redemption (up to $75 each time). You’ll also get 2% back at Murphy USA and Treatment Fuel locations – 1% back when you redeem your rewards and an additional 1% as you save up for your next redemption (up to $75 each time). All other purchases will earn you 1% back, which can be redeemed for cash back, gift cards or merchandise at Walmart stores.
Financing Options
One of the benefits of using a Walmart Credit Card is that you can finance your purchase. You can choose to pay for your purchase over time, or in full at any time. With special financing offers, you can avoid interest charges on your purchase if you pay it off within a certain period of time.
