Doctor Strange post-credit scenes
Doctor Strange has two post-credit scenes, one at the very end of the credits, and one midway through the credits. The scene at the end of the credits is a set-up for the next Avengers movie, while the scene midway through the credits is a set-up for the next Doctor Strange movie.
Doctor Strange post-credit scene one
The first post-credit scene in Doctor Strange shows Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) breaking into a facility and robbing it of a bunch of strange symbols. He tells the man working there that he’s “taking what’s rightfully mine,” and it’s implied that Mordo is now planning to go on a mission to rid the world of all sorcerers, good and bad.
Doctor Strange post-credit scene two
The second post-credit scene in Doctor Strange is a bit of a funny one. In it, we see Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) standing over the bed of an elderly man, who Mordo then proceeds to steal years of life from. “There’s too many sorcerers,” Mordo says as he drains the man of his energy. “It’s not natural.”
This scene is a set up for what could be a future plot line in the MCU, with Mordo becoming more and more disillusioned with the Sorcerer Supreme and perhaps even planning to take him down. It’s also a pretty dark moment, which is fitting for a character who will eventually turn evil.
How many post-credit scenes are in Doctor Strange?
There are two post-credit scenes in Doctor Strange. The first one features Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and the second one features The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton).
Post-credit scene one
At the end of the film, after Dr. Strange has stopped Kaecilius and Dormammu from destroying Earth, he is seen back at Kamar-Taj consulted with The Ancient One about his earlier comments about her being “the past, and surplus to requirements.” She does not take kindly to this, berating him for his insolence and for not understanding the true nature of time – something she will soon have to teach him.
Post-credit scene two
The first post-credit scene shows Doctor Strange and Mordo discussing the Ancient One. Strange reveals that he’s been studying fighting styles from all over the world and has come to believe that the Ancient One’s emphasison the mystical side of things is what makes her so powerful. Mordo is not convinced, and says that he plans to “correct” this imbalance by taking away the powers of all sorcerers.
The second post-credit scene is a mid-credits scene, which shows Thor meeting with Doctor Strange. Thor has come to ask Strange for help finding his missing father, Odin. Strange uses his magic to find Odin, and we see that he’s being held captive by Loki in Asgard.
