How Many Post Credit Scenes Are There?
If you’ve seen Captain Marvel, you know that the film has not one but two post-credits scenes. The first one is a briefTag scene that sets up the events of Avengers: Endgame, while the second is a fun hit of fan service that will leave you laughing.
But how many post-credit scenes are there in Captain Marvel? Well, technically speaking, there are three. In addition to the two we mentioned, there’s a very quick mid-credits scene that features Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg).
The mid-credits scene is nothing more than a quick joke, but the two post-credits scenes are definitely worth sticking around for. If you want to know more about what happens in them, we’ve got you covered with our breakdown of the Captain Marvel post-credit scenes.
What Order Should You Watch Them In?
1. The first post-credits scene is set in the present day, with Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) discussing the recent events.
2. The second post-credits scene is set in the year 1995, with Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) arriving on Earth and meeting with a young Nick Fury.
3. The third and final post-credits scene is set in the present day again, with Fury and Coulson debriefing Danvers on her recent adventures.
What Do They Mean for the Future of the MCU?
There are two Captain Marvel post-credit scenes, and they both have pretty big implications for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The first scene takes place shortly after the events of the film, with Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) paying a visit to Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). Fury shows her a pager that he’s been keeping with him, and tells her that it’s for emergencies only. He presses a button on the pager, and we see that it has the symbol of Captain Marvel on it.
The second scene takes place during the credits, and shows us what happened to Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) and his family after they left Earth. We see them arrive on their home planet, which is revealed to be Skrull-controlled. Talos tells his wife that they’re finally home, and we see them begin to assimilate into Skrull society.
These scenes have pretty big implications for the future of the MCU. First off, it seems pretty clear that Captain Marvel is going to be playing a major role in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War. Additionally, the second scene confirms that the Skrulls are going to be playing a major role in the MCU going forward, which is something that has been heavily hinted at in recent months.
